450 grams pasta (such as penne or fusilli, about 1 lb)
2 medium potatoes (about 300 grams), peeled and diced
1 onion (about 150 grams), finely chopped
4-6 sausages (optional, about 400 grams), sliced
2 tablespoons olive oil (approx. 30 milliliters)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Grated cheese (such as Parmesan), for serving
Instructions:
Cook the Pasta:
Cook 450 grams of pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Vegetables and Sausages:
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons (approx. 30 milliliters) of olive oil over medium heat.
Add 150 grams of finely chopped onion and cook until softened.
Add 300 grams of peeled and diced potatoes and cook until they start to soften.
If using, add 400 grams of sliced sausages and cook until browned and cooked through.
Combine:
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to combine.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve:
Serve hot, sprinkled with grated cheese.
