                                        Ingredients:
500 g ground beef
500 g ground pork
1 onion (150 g), finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 egg
60 g (1/2 cup) breadcrumbs
Salt and pepper to taste
15 ml (1 tablespoon) oil
120 ml (1/2 cup) Liège syrup (or a mix of apple and pear syrup)
240 ml (1 cup) beef broth
30 ml (2 tablespoons) vinegar
30 g (2 tablespoons) brown sugar
15 g (1 tablespoon) mustard
30 g (2 tablespoons) raisins (optional)
Instructions:
In a large bowl, mix ground beef, ground pork, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper. Form into meatballs.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook until browned on all sides. Remove meatballs and set aside.
In the same skillet, add beef broth, Liège syrup, vinegar, brown sugar, mustard, and raisins (if using). Stir to combine.
Return meatballs to the skillet. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens and meatballs are cooked through.
Serve hot with fries or mashed potatoes.
