Recipe Instructions:

Ingredients:
• 500g ground turkey or cooked lentils (for vegan option)
• 1 onion, chopped
• 1 bell pepper, chopped
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 can (400g) crushed tomatoes
• 2 tablespoons tomato paste
• 2 tablespoons brown sugar
• 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (omit for vegan option)
• 1 teaspoon chili powder
• Salt and pepper to taste
• Burger buns or whole-wheat buns
• Side salad or coleslaw for serving
Instructions:
1. In a large skillet, cook ground turkey (or heat cooked lentils) over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
2. Add chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until vegetables are tender.
3. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce (if using), chili powder, salt, and pepper.
4. Simmer uncovered for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens.
5. Adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot on burger buns or whole-wheat buns.
6. Serve with a side salad or coleslaw.
