Recipe Instructions:
Ingredients:
• 1 lb Italian sausage links
• 2 bell peppers (red and green), sliced
• 1 onion, sliced
• 3 cloves garlic, minced
• 2 cups marinara sauce
• 1 lb whole-wheat pasta
• Fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)
• Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
• In a large skillet, cook Italian sausage links over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Remove from skillet and slice.
• In the same skillet, add sliced bell peppers and onion. Sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
• Return sliced sausage to the skillet. Pour marinara sauce over the mixture. Stir well to combine and simmer for a few minutes to heat through.
• Meanwhile, cook whole-wheat pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain.
• Serve sausage and peppers over cooked whole-wheat pasta. Garnish with chopped fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
