Recipe Instructions:
Ingredients:
• 1 lb ground beef or turkey
• 1 packet taco seasoning mix
• 1/2 cup water
• 4 cups shredded lettuce
• 1 cup diced tomatoes
• 1 cup canned black beans, drained and rinsed
• 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
• 1/2 cup sliced black olives
• 1/2 cup sliced green onions
• 1/2 cup sour cream
• 1/2 cup salsa
• Tortilla chips, crushed (optional)
• Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. In a large skillet, cook ground beef or turkey over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat.
2. Stir in taco seasoning mix and water. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally.
3. In a large serving bowl, layer shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, black beans, shredded cheddar cheese, sliced black olives, and sliced green onions.
4. Spoon cooked taco meat over the salad ingredients.
5. Top taco salad with dollops of sour cream and salsa.
6. Garnish with crushed tortilla chips and fresh cilantro, if desired.
