Ingredients:

4-5 ripe tomatoes, diced
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar (optional)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Baguette or Italian bread, sliced
Olive oil, for brushing
Grated Parmesan cheese, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:

In a bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped basil, minced garlic, extra-virgin olive oil, and balsamic vinegar (if using). Mix well.

Season the tomato mixture with salt and pepper to taste. Allow the mixture to sit for about 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

While the tomato mixture is marinating, brush the sliced baguette or Italian bread with olive oil on both sides.

Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and toast them in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden and crispy.

Once the bread slices are toasted, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool slightly.

Spoon the tomato mixture generously onto each toasted bread slice.

If desired, you can sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top of the bruschetta.
