Recipe Instructions:

Habichuelas Guisadas (Stewed Beans)
Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup canned pink beans (or any other beans of your choice)
• 1/4 cup diced ham (optional, for flavor)
• 1/4 cup sofrito (can be store-bought or homemade)
• 1/2 cup water or broth
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
• 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
• Salt and pepper to taste
• 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions:
1. Heat olive oil in a small saucepan over medium heat.
2. Add sofrito and cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
3. Add diced ham (if using) and cook for another 2 minutes.
4. Add pink beans, water or broth, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper.
5. Stir well and bring to a simmer. Cover with a lid and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beans are tender and the flavors have melded.
6. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
7. Serve hot as a satisfying OMAD meal.
