Recipe Instructions:

Ingredients:
• 2 cups fresh basil leaves, packed
• 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
• 1/2 cup pine nuts, toasted
• 3 garlic cloves, minced
• 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
• Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
• In a food processor, combine basil leaves, Parmesan cheese, pine nuts, and garlic cloves.
• Pulse until coarsely chopped.
• With the food processor running, gradually add olive oil in a steady stream until smooth and well blended.
• Season with salt and pepper to taste. Pulse a few more times to combine.
• Use immediately as a sauce for pasta, spread for sandwiches, or a topping for grilled meats. Pesto can also be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week, covered with a thin layer of olive oil.
