Recipe Instructions:

Ingredients:
• 4 pieces of flatbread or pita bread
• 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
• 2 large onions, thinly sliced
• 1 teaspoon ground sumac
• 1 teaspoon ground cumin
• 1 teaspoon ground allspice
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• Salt and pepper, to taste
• Olive oil
• Pine nuts (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
o Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
o Season chicken breasts with sumac, cumin, allspice, cinnamon, salt, and pepper.
o Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken breasts until browned on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
o In the same skillet, add more olive oil if needed. Cook onions until caramelized and golden brown, stirring occasionally.
o Place flatbread or pita bread on a baking sheet.
o Spread caramelized onions evenly over the bread. Place seared chicken breasts on top.
o Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through.
o Sprinkle with pine nuts (if using) and serve hot. Musakhan is often served with yogurt and a salad.
