Ingredients:
250 grams chicken thighs or breasts, cut into chunks
1 onion, finely chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tablespoon sweet paprika powder
1/2 teaspoon ground caraway seeds (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup chicken broth or water
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons sour cream (optional, for serving)
Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Cooked egg noodles or rice, to serve
Instructions:
Prepare Chicken:
Heat olive oil in a small pot over medium heat.
Add chopped onion and garlic. Sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
Add Paprika and Chicken:
Stir in sweet paprika powder and ground caraway seeds (if using). Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add chicken chunks to the pot. Season with salt and pepper. Brown the chicken on all sides, about 5 minutes.
Simmer Stew:
Pour in chicken broth or water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
Cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes, until chicken is cooked through and tender. Stir occasionally.
Finish and Serve:
If using, stir in sour cream to thicken and enrich the sauce (optional step).
Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
Serve hot over cooked egg noodles or rice.
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
