Main Dish

Recipe Instructions:

Ingredients:
• 500g elbow macaroni, cooked al dente
• 1 head cauliflower or broccoli, cut into florets
• 4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
• 2 cups milk
• 2 tablespoons butter
• 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
• Salt and pepper to taste
• 1 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
2. In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour to make a roux.
3. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth and thickened.
4. Stir in 3 cups of shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
5. Season cheese sauce with salt and pepper.
6. In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked macaroni, cauliflower or broccoli florets, and cheese sauce.
7. Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish. Top with remaining shredded cheddar cheese and breadcrumbs (if using).
8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until bubbly and golden on top.
9. Let cool slightly before serving.
