Recipe Instructions:

Ingredients:
• 2 cups cooked Japanese rice
• 1 lb thinly sliced beef, chicken, or breaded pork cutlets (tonkatsu)
• 1 onion, thinly sliced
• 1/4 cup soy sauce
• 1/4 cup mirin (or 1 tablespoon sugar)
• 1/4 cup dashi stock (optional, can substitute with water)
• 2 tablespoons sake (optional)
• 2 eggs, beaten (optional)
• Thinly sliced green onions, for garnish
Instructions:
1. In a medium saucepan, combine soy sauce, mirin, dashi stock (or water), and sake. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
2. Add sliced onion and cook until softened.
3. Add thinly sliced meat or tonkatsu cutlets to the sauce. Cook until meat is cooked through.
4. If using eggs, pour beaten eggs evenly over the meat and sauce. Cover and cook until eggs are set.
5. Serve cooked rice in large bowls. Top with meat, sauce, and eggs.
6. Garnish with thinly sliced green onions.
7. Serve Donburi hot.
